Rufus and Mary Heidenreich had seven children, six of whom attended the Vine Vale School for their early schooling. When the school closed in 1985, the original school bell was presented to Rufus Heidenreich. Today, Noel and Cheryl are custodians of this bell. They live in Vine Vale and purchased a vineyard behind the Old School. When wine from this vineyard was produced, a natural choice for naming their label was to acknowledge the Old School and the family history associated with it.

The first release of our Reserve Shiraz represents the finest Shiraz grapes from the Heidenreich vineyards. The wine has been carefully handcrafted to express the complexity and fruit concentration that the Vine Vale region has to offer.

2021 PRINCIPAL'S SHIRAZ

The Principal of a school is often referred to as the cornerstone of a community. This is exactly what Shiraz is to the Barossa Valley and to the Heidenreich family, who have been growing Shiraz for over 70 years. Deep red in colour with a rich black cherry aroma, balanced with soft vanillin oak. .

2021 GRADUATES CABERNET SAUVIGNON

Graduation ceremonies have always had an air of excitement and an expectation that it is time to stand alone. This is reflected in this Cabernet Sauvignon, vibrant red with rich aromas of mocha and coffee.

2021 MASTERS CABERNET MERLOT

Only an accomplished student achieves a Masters, and this wine displays a wealth of accumulated knowledge in blending Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot varieties. Deep red in colour, displaying plum aromas with hints of coffee and chocolate. Generous palate crammed with cassis and plum fruit; tannin and oak are secondary players.

CLASS OF 2022 CHARDONNAY

Just like a student on the first day of school, this Chardonnay is young, enthusiastic and exhibits pure expressions! Fresh and appealing aroma of melon, citrus and pineapple. Rich, generous mid-palate and finish.
